Will P01447 Evap code make my car run like ****?
Sorry for the long story. Hoping somebody might have a similar experience and might be able to help..
97' 5spd. with over 200,xxx miles on it..
Was driving along the other day and the car started bucking and shaking real bad. It was almost like it was going into limp mode. Ran fine under 2000 rpms but acted up over 2000 rpms. Shut it off and restart it and it would go away..
So I stop @ autozone and get them to throw a scanner on it and it comes up with P01447 EVAP control system purge flow monitoring.
I get it home and jump on the org to lookup possible causes and I go back out and start checking some stuff out. I noticed that my strut tower brace had broken the small hose connection on the evap canister purge control valve.
From my engine moving around and the valve hitting my strut bar it broke the plastic nipple off and the hose was cracked too. So I replace the hose with one that was close in size but not as tight as the original one.
I though it was fixed. The car was running fine until today. I had to take an hour drive and on the way down it was fine. It started acting up on the way back. When I pulled over and shut the car off and restart it, it would run good for 5-10 mins then act up again. It got progressively worse until finally I had to get off the highway before I got ran over by a tractor trailer..
Could something with the evap system or P01447 code cause the car to run this bad?
Is it possible that if the evap canister purge control valve has a vacuum leak it would make it run like ****? (I did pull the little hose off when it was running good and it didn't seem to have any effect)
I'll start going over the evap system with my FSM but any help would be greatly appreciated..

Damn it just started doing it again!!
It's definitely running better with the maf from the junkyard but it just went into limp mode again.. Autozone has a new re-manufactured maf in stock but it's $215.. Should I try it? Worst case I could take it back to a different az and tell em it was the wrong part?
No new codes either..
Would a bad knock sensor put it into limp mode?? It's been knocking and pinging alot more since this problem started..

P1447 can be lots of issues man. Google pmohr's a32 decoder. Click the link and see what issues you get.

Thanks. As far as I know, the evap system shouldn't put the car into limp mode.. It's a different problem that's not trowing a code for. When I changed the maf it ran great for awhile but then it started acting up again..
