So i'm looking to install fog lights

I found all the how to install fog lights threads and stuff. But my question is does the connectors match for all of the different fog lights? or do I have to have the specific 95-96 fog lights because the connectors don't match newer ones.

I have a 1995 maxima, and I was considering retrofitting some of the 97-99 fog lights into the bumper of my car if i can't find some factory 95-96 fog lights.

If you're going to go through the work of retrofitting the housings into the bumper, then the connectors shouldn't be any concern really. I haven't had my 4th gen in a long time, but the work that would be needed to make the 97+ housings fit is more complex than getting a couple of waterproof connectors and making the wiring work. IIRC the 97+ housings were preferred by many anyways because they didn't break like the 95-96's.

the 97+ are a different shape so its more work than bolting it up. Have CHrisman retrofit the 95-96. I like them better

Thanks for the help guys. I was only considering the retrofitting route because it's so hard to find fog lights for my 1995 or they're wildly expensive.

I understand completely bro. They were hard to find back in the day when I had my 4th gen.

When it comes down to it, let the wiring be the least of your concerns. That will be the easy part, especially if you just solder, shrink wrap, and add your own new waterproof connectors.

Don't let us discourage you from trying the retro-grade. That can be half the fun sometimes. I was just suggesting to not get hung up on the wiring.

Good luck.

Ive got a 95 and I just installed my fogs last month, I got mine from the local pull a part brakets, lights and stalk for $20. It was plug and play pretty much along with cutting out the holes in the bumper.

Sorry to bump this thread again, but do the H3's just connect directly to the electrical connector behind the bumper? if so, does the electrical connector also have the seal that keeps the light in place? or do i have to go find the special part that goes between the electrical connector and the fog light housing?
