O2 sensor

Ok how long does it take for the bank 1 sensor 2 code take to go away after a sensor change i did 50 miles so far and it didnt go away and it took 138 miles to get it to turn on after a cel reset for egr.do i have to clear the codes manualy?which i dont want to do because i need to get the emissions test done and the monitors take forever to set the way i drive.

it's not miles...it's drive cycles. A drive cycle is basically several miles of city driving, severl miles of 30-45mph driving, and several miles of highway driving.

Nice edit.

It may never clear if the original problem wasn't the sensor itself. Either way it will need so many drive cycles to be passable. Clear the code, see of the light stays off and just drive the dam thing until the monitors are ready. and go from there. Road trip
