You better get a new connector. That's your dual powertrain hyper capacitor. Car wont run without it.

You able to snap a pic of the sensor? If the hyper capacitor is unhooked, that's no biggie, you need the FLUX capacitor to go back in time

Your wasting your time with the sanding process.

I disagree. My clutch was replaced and the tranny was not cleaned up before re-install. Had them pull it back out and clean it and it fired right up.

its a well known sensor in the S14 crowd of 240s.

the black square with 2 prong plug on the bell-end of the trans with a black tiny cylindrical thing coming out on the inside, right?
this is the CAS/ Crank angle sensor. it comes on obd2 cars and some 94.5 model nissans. for S14 people tryna do tranny swaps its a way to properly identify if your getting the right trans from the buyer or if they are scamming you with an S13 trans.

all it does is, well, its job. and keep you from throwing a CEL. it is not a vital component since nissans prior to 94 except the GTR had no such sensor.

idk if it affects the CEL throwing on A32s. but that is what it does for kouki 180s, S14s and 15s. unnecessary

I believe your referring to Crank Position Sensor (position) which is located on the bell housing under and towards the front of the car. The other Crank Sensor (reference) is located just above the main pulley.
Both sensors are on all 95 and up VQ's. A no start condition will result if CPS POS fails. Those are the only 2 crank sensors on the A32.

Crank and can sensors throw car into fail safe, or limp mode I thought...not a no start?
Only asking cause this happened to me last week when a Cam sensor filled with agua

and I could be wrong, but I swear that sensor on my tranny has only 1 wire and is related to a ground

and +1 on the sanding. I read about that after my swap, and just added a ground to the starter and tranny (4 ga.)
No problems since

that was your flux capacitor, you won't be able to hit 88 mph and travel through time.

CPS REF and the Camshaft position will throw it into fail safe.
CPS POS will cause a no start.

I cannot believe you got this many idiotic responses. The only sensor on the AT or MT that, if disconnected, will not cause a 0700 series DTC or no-start condition is the reverse gear sensor. In accessory mode, set your parking brake and put the gear selector in reverse. No illumination of your reverse lamps indicate a break or fault with this circuit.
