Very true. Though i believe he used rattlecan on his stock paint.... He said "I only noticed the fading after some of it peeled off and some stuck, the peeled area having better clear than what didn't peel off"

Whoa there nelly.
RE: 350*F being ok for brake components:
Dry boiling point
DOT 2 190 °C (374 °F)
DOT 3 205 °C (401 °F)
DOT 4 230 °C (446 °F)
DOT 5 260 °C (500 °F)
DOT 5.1 270 °C (518 °F)
People have been known to boil the brake fluid on track days without much effort. I'd stay far away from brake parts, 350*F is not nearly high enough.

I will say that the nature of Plasti-Dip when over heated is to melt, though once cooled will re-bond to the surface without a change in texture. I will warn, that discoloration will occur in colors other than black when taken past the recommended temperature. Most street cars will not see temperatures near the melting point on their calipers even after aggressive use.

^^what kind of discoloration?
AND walmart near me started carrying white plastidip, home depot carries black and yellow, northern tool has red and black. That's all I've noticed though. I want to do my 2nd car white with it
edit: it's ~$6-7 a can at all of these places

I have observed that white Plasti-Dip will turn yellow if overheated. Red Plasti-Dip will turn brownish. These tests were done with a torch. I have yet to see Plasti-Dip overheat on calipers.

They had black since a few years ago, red since about 6 months ago, and white got in sometime this month. I wonder if they'll ever catch on that people want a lot of this stuff.....

Might do the toolbox on the truck and even the front bumper replacement, not so sure about doing the whole truck.
How well does it hold up to heavy scrubbing for stuff like bugs on the front of the car? We have grass hoppers and locust in the summers down here the size of toddlers.

I had some on the front of my max at one point and it took some high-pressure water to get it to peel at all. I never did get all of it but mostly just because what's left is out if sight

oh i did it last week two days before CPT ill post some pics of it later after work lol, it came out nice just f'ed up some places where the masking tape bonded with the paint. overall im happy i used 12 cans. i will buy some more later when home depot stock ups in all i did 3 coats cause use two more for durability but its noice!

keep practicing. a lot if imperfections just from those pics. just healthy criticism, man. i've dipped my car with cans and know how it feels/looks. the sun shows everything that's wrong with pd. overcast weather is the best lol

^^ I agree. I personally don't think the Maxima's have an aggressive enough look to pull off the flat black unless it's slammed with some sick rims, a lip kit, and some performance so when the little Honda guys see you they wouldn't want to attempt to race. I've been waiting on my knifeless tape from Ebay over a month now because it got lost in transit. They sent another so hopefully I could start my vinyl wrapping soon

A little positive criticism from a professional dipper here:
There is a lot of texture. Try spraying closer or put on heavier coats. You want the first coat to be a simple dusting. The following coats should be very wet, but not running. It gives the dip a chance to smooth out before drying. If you are masking, pull the tape off before the dip dries to get a crisp edge. Otherwise, good job!
Was there any reason you didn't just get a Pro Car Kit from DipYourCar?
