99 Maxima outfitted with the full 01 DEK

Ok guys I got the motor in last week and doing some work/cleaning before the install..oh yeah and turbo. I've done some research and I've found OOVI swaps in details but not a Full DEK swap but from reading this is what I found that needs to change (add please or help and point me to the how to):

pigtails need to be changed for the injectors
blockoff plate and adapter plate for the IACV (to use the 4th gen IACV with the 5th gen TB)
I'm going to remove swirl valves
I'm going to remove butterfly so no need for an RPM switch
TPS sensor pigtail on the 4th gen harness needs a little altering to fit on the 5th gen TPS
adding a VFAC2 for fuel/air control
Aeromotive A1000-6 Injected Bypass Regulators

Any help if I'm missing something. I plan on tearing into this over the weekend and replace gaskets and start painting parts.

Im in the same boat as you. DE-K swap in my 95. Except I kept the butterflies and have an rpm switch that I need to install. And I dont have boost, unfortunately.

I also need something for tuning A/F. Was thinking the VAFC 2 as well. Keep me informed of your progress/problems and ill do the same.

Will do man. I'm just now starting this and will go to the junk yard this weekend for the pig tails to wire up. I'm trying to follow a mixture of the dummies thread and the OOVI swap thread. It's so disorganized. My main concern is the vaccum lines. There is a thread on hooking up a VFAC (http://www.vqpower.com/v3/how-tos/electronics). Hope that helps you.

In regards to the vacuum lines just block them all off

But if you want no codes then.....

You have a 99 so it's pretty obvious which ones you need and don't need.

Things are tricky for 95-98's though.

Did you use the DEK EGR, do they plug right in to not throw a code? Right now I have my motor at one place and my car at another so I can't compare.

99's use an electronic EGR valve. It may be the same as the DEK setup and plug in. I know the 95-98 EGR just needs the valve to manifold tube and temp sensor swapped over.

I'm in the middle of a 00vi swap myself. I have the DEK motor on a stand. Most of it really is a bolt on affair.

Actually it's not tricky at all.

I wonder who wrote that? I'll have to take a pic of my simplified vacuum setup.

The only thing I had to change on it was B and C for the EVAP solenoid. My car and all of the 4th gens at the junkyard had the check valve on B and the purge control valve on C.

So I've taken out the swirl valves and sent the injectors off to be tested and cleaned. I'll be running (if everything goes eight with this sale) a disco potato (Garrett GT2860RS turbo)...My new Megan dual tip muffler came in with 3 inch piping..just need to get some bends and that should be taken care of.

Im really concerned with the Vaccumm lines and EGR issue (the 2001 doesn't have the tubes thank god)..I just feel it's going to be a huge mess. But maybe I'm just overlooking at it and I'll worry about it when I get to that point. I still need 3 5th gen injector pigtails so the junk yard this weekend..

Yup looks like you're right. I still have my hand written diagram of the solenoids. Must have been cross eyed by that last one.

I hooked up my evap according to this diagram. You mention here that the 4th gens at the junkyard have the check valve going to B and the purge valve going to C. Is the diagram correct or do I need to switch B and C?

I'm 99% sure the image up is the correct one, not sure what happened when I typed that response. I removed the older incorrect image from my Flickr account. I'll double check my setup tomorrow and let you know.

The image is correct, my check valve is on C. I think I meant to say that when JSutter originally wrote it, that's what he had listed for B and C.

Nice color choice... I have the same colors... Mine is bt4 though.. As i stand right now i may be dek swapping shortly as well.. Not 100% sure yet... I may have a leaky headgasket and rather than fix it.. I will most likely swap engines as i can get my hands on a dek with 100k even for 250 bucks.. My concern is only with vac lines and egr mainly.i have a 97 engine in my car now so im in a diff boat

Nice, did you trim your map sensor at all? Mine looks about twice as large as the one you have.
