door locking problem & some paint questions

Hello guys, I have searched the forum and could not find the answer i needed for my door. The lock/unlock button on my door would not lock completely when i press lock. It would not swing completely in. You would understand me when you watch my video. My first guess is the door actuator but i have no idea how to replace it. Any guide or help on this would be wonderful. This has been happening to me the past two months and i have been locking the doors by hand. Its very annoying.

The front driver door started with this problem. Then the front passenger failed as well. The back two doors still lock fine.

The doors seem to work in warmer weather above 50 degrees. When it is cold , the doors don't seem to want to lock.

& since i made a thread, i might as well get my other question out of the way. This is about paint codes, etc. Trying to get paint to match with the car.

So i replaced my rear passenger door with a door from a 95 maxima gxe. Both maximas are white. I have a 99 maxima gle. The door colors seem to be off. I did a little research on this forum and a 95 maxima have a color code of QN0 ; while a 99 maxima has QT1 right?

So i was told since my car was 14 years old that my paint faded. I was also told that painting my car to QT1 code would just have a fresh white paint compared to my old paint on the car. I would end up with faded white vs my fresh paint of white. Is this really true?

I just want my door to match with the rest of the car. I am really confused what to do.

If i can't find a solution, i would probably end up repainting the WHOLE car with white plasti dip, followed by some glossifer.

I am a DIY guy and would probably never take it to the shop.

cant help you with the door lol but by the sound of it what usually happens with the paint is not the paint its self but the clear coat got burnt by the sun causing the paint to be exposed which then causes the paint to look matte and with white eaten up lines around it or so, which would be the clear coat.

Check the solenoid that moves the mechanism. It may be binding.

^highly doubt that. Does anyone have any other solutions? this is really annoying me. I'm leaning towards replacing the whole door if i can't fix it by summer.

Wats makes you think that the door,14-18 years old ,which you will replace it with wont do the same? Lubricate the rods with grease all the way back to where they attach, this should def. work, I have fixed many doors by doing so,

.
Refinish the door with the QT1 color, make sure you blend into the quarter and the other door.

Try cleaning all the grounds on your car, especially the ones that attach to the body. Or add a ground kit.

you need a new thingy that locks/unlocks the door. Sorry, I don't know the correct name for it. I would assume it would be something along the lines of "power lock actuator"

for the paint, you might as well just get a fresh respray on the outside, of whichever color you prefer, QN0 or QT1. I was under the impression that QN0 was on all 4th gens, 95-99, and QT1 started on the 5th gen, 00+. guess I'm wrong though.
