Alright so i just got my first Maxima, my dad gave it to me right before Sandy hit us. But anywho, it's a stock 5speed 96 SE (I checked the VIN, after BLHUL it is a V) .. Nothing about the car indicates that it's an SE besides the wheels and spoiler... basically the car looks like this:

Spoiler
No sunroof
15" blade style wheels (not the steel wheels+hubcaps)
Black gauges
5speed trans (as I stated above)
Chrome outer window trim + door handles

And like I said, I checked the VIN twice and the beginning of the model# is BLHULV (V=SE)

Could this be possible?

If it helps, my dad has had this car since ~96-97 so he may or may not have had things done to the car, but to my knowledge, it's bone stock with the exception of the alternator which is only about a month old..

EDIT: Like could he have possibly asked to have those things on the car so it doesn't look like an SE from the outside? and no, asking him right now is not a possibility, don't ask why...

EDIT2: Don't have fog lights either.

Whale cuhm to the org

If it was an SE you would have white face gauges and a body colored grill and a sunroof and fogs

Welcome to the org!

The VIN says it is a SE. Nissan wasn't real big on putting chrome or labels or stickers on the cars back then. An identifying feature of an SE is the faces of the speedo and gauges are white. Are yours white?

There is a lot of information here. Spend some time reading our "stickies" and get most of your questions answered. Also we have many specialty forums for audio, engine, wheels & tires, buy & sell and more.

You may want to download a FSM (factory service manual) so here is a place you can download from:
