Help!!!!! Fuel Leak?!?!?!

I have a 1998 automatic Maxima se that has been great up until now. It has 278,000 miles on the original drive train. The problem is now there is fuel poring out the back of the block when it’s running. It is hard to see back there because of the fire wall. The gas is building up behind the drive shaft/passenger wheel and at a high rate. There is also a white mist coming from the exhaust pipe.
Could it be?
a) A leaking or stuck injector causing fuel to puddle in the intake a leak out.
b) A blown head gasket.
Or c) A injector seal or fuel line leak.
I’m going to take the upper intake man. off but If I do that I cant start the engine which also means I can not see where the leak is coming from.

Has anyone come across this or heard of it before.
Please chime in with some good information.

Thanks in advance.

I did do a search and Im having the same issue as this guy http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generation-maxima-1995-1999/588247-very-unusual-fuel-leak-help.html but of couse he did not post a resolution to the problem.

you most likely have a busted fuel line...or maybe one of the fuel hoses came off..can happen easily if their was recent work done and a hose clamp was not tightened...

LOL no! Its been sitting for about a month now. I have not had time to look at it. I have two other cars to drive. But my lil sister needs a car. I was going to fix it and give it to her.

My first guess would be the rubber hose that connects the fuel injector rails.

Another fuel system question

When I fill up my 95 Max sometimes I get a fuel smell in and around the car for a bit. I've been over the car bumper to bumper and can't find any leaks. Gas mileage is unchanged, is something wrong or am I just nuts?

There is two hoses coming from the tank. One to bring the fuel to the rails and the other to send the unused fuel back to the tank. I would inspect the hoses connected to the fuel rails and follow back to firewall.

Check your evap sensor. Do you get pressure releasing when you open the gas cap?
