2 tone paint job on 1998 max???

I am in need of OPINIONS:

I have a 1998 max that is the oem "beige," or champagne or whatever you wanna call it. It is gonna need a paint job and I am tossing around the idea of cutting it in half from right under the side mirrors up and doing a royal blue/ oem colorscheme. The only thing I am worried about is looking "ricey." I want to do something unique without looking like a bulimic model purged her sherbit on it.

honestly, not really a fan of two tone paint jobs. I only see them on donk, rice, and show cars. but to each their own.

2-tone paint jobs look good on classic cars with strong definitive body lines.

omfg! ok case made... forget I ever asked... sweet jesus I haven't even been drinking... this might be the single worst documented idea on the org. ever. I award myself no points, and may the lord have mercy on my soul. I wanted to paint my max like an outback... oh the shaame.

its your choice i wouldnt two tone a maxima but if i were too itd be to a 4th gen or a 7th gen with the color black my tsx has a two tone paint job but its a show car but is also my daily i get compliments every day only been called a ricer once on the internet by a ethug lol but then again the tsx has sharper edges to make the bold stanced out look unlike the maxima if i were u id just get a cf hood and wrap the top of the roof gloss black and id skip the trunk i always feel like cf trunks are for ricers. sometimes i like to joke around and call my car a ricer even tho i believe its not just cause its a import and i say it sure feels good to be a ricer cause it feels good to roll fresh lol goodluck

I define "rice" as anything that looks like it doesn't belong there. I'm not saying that oem is the end all, but it should look astetically pleasing as opposed to a neon green civic with chrome wheels a 3 foot tall evo wannabe spoiler etc... granted there is no oem 2 tone paint for a max, I wanted (prior to seeing that outback) to see if it could be done tastefully... I am of the mind it cannot. So now I have the new problem of "what color should I do it." there seems to be a trend among orgers to either black or white it out, haven't seen a whole lot of other paint schemes. I guess I could white it out... just to mess with a certain someone who is an orger and has a trick whitey...

the outback two tone is ugly as f lol what about spending money on interior like get your seats reupholstered. i always wanted red seats like a s2000 but i dont think itll fit very well into my 03 max so i was thinking a black and white color scheme except my car is sterling mist! o i wish it were white or black lol

Now just wait a min...

You can two tone max...(see Flava's car).

It just has to be done tastefully.

That being sd....beige and royal blue??? ehh that may be a lil ricey. Beige and black is straight

I say if you do decide two tone it, follow the lower body line by the molding. This iride is an original two tone.

i guess were talking about two different kind of two tones. ones an entire paintjob and the other is just a two tone color scheme.

its the chrome wheels on that car that tie it all together, mine wouldn't have the same..swagger. I have the 19" rays of a g35 on my car, but they are powdercoated titanium grey. Thinking about it too.. my bodykit doesn't look like it would be able to handle a 2 tone... You cant see it yet but I am getting the entire front clip replaced with a R34 style front end.

http://www.bodykits.net/front-bumper...maxima/170312/

SO... looking at that i really dont think 2 tone would work seeing as the most appropriate place to 2 tone the car would look funny. The paint is starting to fade on the top so the paint is gonna happen, this was another reason why i thought that a 2 tone would be a nice idea, save a little money by only painting half the car...haha <----- cheap. Gonna keep it OEM beige until I want to drop the 4k it would take to completely change the color.

Im anti chrome. Theyre not chrome. Theyre a machined finish.

Not a fan of that body kit or any body kit for that matter. Its all about keeping the lines of the car flowing and that bumper just doesnt IMHO

Ah, sorry for the insult... machined it is. You are right about the front bumper, I want my car to look almost bipolar. for me its all about the warface, looking at it straight on I want it to look mean, from the side I want it to look clean. After all if you consider where the bulk of the cash is in my car its under the hood so I want it to be nasty up there. As for your car it is CLEAN! well played.

now the rims and pin stripe along with the window tint tie it to the rest of the car. salt and rocks from illinois ruined my front bumper by the time the second picture was taken

edit: ive had all the windows tinted sence both of these were taken
