Backfire at 4 grand?

Well, had V2s installed last week, everything went well, no issues, just installed a short ram intake and I'm backfireing at 4k rpm and it's not wanting to go any higher... Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

???? What do you mean backfiring and wont go past 4k? Is it acting like its bouncing off the limiter?

Right at 4 grand it just doesn't want to go any higher, then when i gas it more it backfires... This is in park when I gas it, but when I start to shift and move it just stutters a bit, something is very wrong...

Yup, gotta be the MAF, but I got the V2s off cfiggs here... but how can the MAF just go bad in the snap of a finger? all I did was install the short ram, there was ZERO issues before I installed it, the flow is correct, everything is clamped good, no wires on top of it, I didn't bang it at all, only thing I can think of us is moisture? It was drizzling out when i did it, but it stayed on the UIM the whole time...

They just go bad sometimes, try cleaning it first.

100% MAF as others have stated. You can try cleaning it but be sure to use MAF cleaner. Its a sensitive lil siht. Any abrasive chemical will kill your MAF.

Yes the PCV is intact, I never touched it, just went and made sure.
But thank you to everyone for the insight, gonna try and clean it first I guess...
Also, I disconnected the MAF while it was running and it just made a power loss type noise and sat back in the car and gassed it and it wouldn't go past 2k rpm, so could this mean it is NOT bad? and there's another issue?

Oh sorry about that, yea I used a MAF cleaner spray, works wonders... Be generous with it though if you use it, it doesn't hurt, then proceed to take a small drive around the block after reinstall, like it never happened.
