Only "prefessional" experience I have working on cars is when I worked at a shop for about 6 months. Other than that, I worked at a parts store for about 3 years. Everything else was self tought because I didn't want to pay dealer prices to fix my stuff.

I thought about doing auto mechanics as I am really good at diagnosing electro-mechanical systems. (which is what currently do but as an engineer) IMO Most mechanics don't make enough money. Obviously their is the cost of tools of the trade but too many people take a cut of a labor charge at most dealerships. In many situations your better off learning a different trade which make often make more money.

that blows bro, but the sad thing is your doing better than some of the others....with this market these days
whats even more sad is the price per barrel for crude oil is now $91, but yet fuel prices are still over 4 buck here in chicago... they should be half that for the price per barrel, thats where most of us get raped

A guy on this forum mentioned the Ford Duratec V6 shared with Mazda in their MX6 and jaguar S type 3.0.The Jaguar version made the most HP (240 HP from 3 liters) due to their version using hydraulic tappets or some such mechanical.
He had a much more detailed and interesting history. That motor was quite comparable to Nissan's VQ. The VQ's better though

, glad to see someone back up what was said with facts (no sarcasm on this one), ford did own jaguar which is where you see them use close to the same engine, and they also had a deal with mazda to help with the ongoing fuel economy race of the big three which if i remember right is where the design came from in the first place, i cant remember id have to do some searching
