Each speaker is pre amped. I wouldn't recommend tapping into the stock wires. Buy a wiring harness for the bose unit and wire your aftermarket headunit into that.

You read some bad information. All you need to get is the right plug and plug wiring harness to connect your new headunit to the existing harness and you're done.

Shop Crutchfield and you'll see what I mean. They include all the necessary harness(es) and dash kits necessary for install, free of charge.

ok well this is the one i have coming to me in a few days. the head unit i have has extra amp hook ups on it. http://www.amazon.com/Metra-Amplifier-Integration-995-2005-Infiniti/dp/B0007WTF5C/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1337684348&sr=8-5
do i just hook the wires into them and it should work right?

Looks like it will work, I would just replace the head unit as well. Better output.

It looks like that intergration kit has a pre-amp output.

Good luck

I had an inline converter years ago. It lets you adjust the levels coming from the HU to the Bose amp. They work OK. At some point I decided to take it out. I now have the pre outs sending the signal directly to the Bose amps. Its basically the same thing as the above links but essentially free. Works great.
