Am I the only one that thinks the 4th gen maxima is the best looking out of all of them. A buddy of mine bought the 7th gen maxima and Im not so hot on it. The 4th gen can really pull it if you get the kits and lights right. IMO

I am with you 100%. Not sure if this is the right place to put this post(Theres so many of then XD), but the 4th gen is the best, because it is the most aerodynamic and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I like 3rd and 4th gen. 4th is rounder and a bit softer edges, but the 3rd can be quite sexy as well imo. But anything after the 4th is like "meh" to me.

^ I agree, the 5.5 gen is a winner in my books. I forget what a clean 4th gen looks like, there are too many old rusty ones driving around...

I fell in love with 3rd gen when I first drove one, really liked the 4th, 5th gen grew to be my alltime fav and still is, 7th gen a close second...and I own a 6th, go figure.

97-99s look very good when lowered a bit on decent wheels. stock 95-96, ehhhh, not so much.

i would say that when lowered on nice wheels, 97-99s look the best out of all the generations. 3rd gens improve with lowering too, but for whatever reason, not as much. 5th gens are kind of weird looking, and 6th gens are ugly as hell no matter what you do to them - their lines are terrible. 7th gens are good looking cars (though I have never seen one lowered).

Depending on the angle you look, the 7th has a fat a$$ overbite going on imo. Agree 6th is just tragic. 5.5 has good front due to headlights...

97-99 SE. Nuff said. I have an I30 now......growing to love it slowly.
Actually, I30s do look better than 97-99 in one area; side profile. The chrome bits are tastefully done on the car, and they especially stand out on dark color I30s, like the thicker door guard with a chrome seam in it. The Maxima just gets this plastic line.

Still, the 97-99 SEs are the best looking....sigh

I kind of agree with this. Since, 6.5 gen is the same principle.

Maybe an A32B is a VQ35 equipped 4th gen.

IMO....
There was a point in my life that I was into the 95/6 slightly more, but then began to favor the 97-99. And I also like 3rd gens too.

I remember completely hating the 00-01. And slowly letting the 02-03 grow on me.

Always hated the 6.0, semi tolerate the 6.5.

7th gen is good looking but far too big.

I wont even get into specifics (tranny type, CVT, etc). just based solely on looks.

In the end, A32 fo lYfe!

I still think the AE 5th gen is the best looking maxima, followed by 97+ 4th gen.

But, I35 > all maximas in terms of looks.

i've always thought that when people said "4.5gen" that they were referring to a 4th gen with a VQ35 swapped in. never occurred to me that people meant 97-99s... hmm

I also thought 4.5 gen meant a VQ35 4th gen.

The 97-99 is really only a cosmetically modified 95-96.
Same engine, same body, different bumpers and grilles only.

So......4.5 gen like the 5.5 which a has different motor and HIDs from the 5th gen?

It was a slow start, but I love my 4th gen. I have to agree, the 6th gen is just plain ugly to me, and the 7th gen is a big comeback in terms of looks. 3rd - 5.5 gens are okay, but I like the lines of the 4th better.

The 97-99 are pimp but wish it could have kept the 95-96 grill. As for the 7th gen IMO, it is starting to lose some cool point seeing that the 2013 Altima pretty much took the back of the 7th gen just like the previous Altimas took the front of the 6th gens witht he headlights...

Nissan is starting to lose their creative touch since separating from Japan. Look at their Maximas over there and compare to here. Also, cant forget about the 01 AE which was pimp also if it also got the 5.5 headlights and grill to go with it.
