AIR Bag reset procedure for 99 Maximas

I have a 1999, i30 about every 3 years it has a brain failure and the air bag light flashes, lucky so far I wiggle the under seat plugs and it has gone away after I do the reset procedure. this time I look on the net and there seem to be several different reset methods.
- mine for a 99 was a turn key on, push the door switch a number of times, with off key, close door then restart engine.
- one of the "new" methods (maybe for later 04, 06 etc models) describes a turn the ign switch off and on 5 times when the air bag light first goes off
- there might be another

What is the best reset method for our 4th generation cars? mine is a 1999. do we have a sticky.
it sounds like a big nissan problem from looking at the internet
thanks

There a thread on that topic below that I used on my 99 model. I've done it manually and with the help of NDS1.

https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...-question.html

Air Bag Reset Procedure
1) Open driver door
2) Turn ignition switch to the on position
3) Press the door switch button 5 times in 7 seconds.
4) Turn the ignition switch to the off position
5) Turn the ignition switch on and proceed with starting the vehicle.

IIRC, sometimes it took a couple of reset cycles to enter and exit diagnostic mode. Then the light would stay off.

some say the cause is loose under seat air bag connectors, the yellow colored ones- has anyone disconnected them or just wiggle them to ensure the pins contact well?
