I think you're definitely gonna have to pull that UIM off.

I agree. I have CA emmisions 99 and I don't see how it would have been possible to do. While your taking off the uim, you can clean out the EGR tube.

Do you run premium gas?

it's my girlfriends car and she used to run plus in it cuz I made her but think I have her convinced to run premium now since there was a noticable gain in fuel mileage on the last couple tanks since she switched.

it had a couple codes for months including the ks. it ran great for about a week after I got those cleared and then I got the dreaded 0111 evap code. the charcoal canister was junk so I dumped the loose stuff out, which was all of it, put it back on and reset the ecu. within a day the light came back on again for the evap system. have a new canister ordered but hasn't come in yet.

Throw a resistor in the KS harness and continue to run premium. Do not let her switch to anything lower.

You pretty much just put it in there and tape it up.

where at in the harness? is the green plug the same as the ones without the cali motor? it has a few extra plugs in it in between the ks and the green connector.

I don't mean to jack this thread but how do you actually test the KS on the 4th gen? Using a multimeter? what numbers you should get?

I'm not sure if it's the same on the Cali motors so I can't help there.

I found where to plug it in. just follow the harness up and there is a connection before you will get to the main wiring harness that the green plug comes off of. damn californians.
