I got one I can't find the answere to.
I swapped a 5th gen trans and installed a transgo HD2 reprograming kit but before the swap my trans would "fall out" of first gear only when cold and my TCC would engage for approximately 3.2 miles then disengage and not return until the car is shutoff and restarted
After the swap (VB and trans) the problem is not resolved
Any thoughts?
Sorry I didn't want to start a new thread and this seems like an appropriate place

this NOT the thread to ask questions

since you changed the tranny, i would think it is the TCU or the VB

something more electronic related rather than mechanical

Yea no I wasn't insulting kevlo I was just saying there are so many regulars doing these threads now its kind of adding to the problem and making it ok to frivolously start threads. Something has to be done I agree with the OP. Possibly putting a life on threads? automatically delete them if not viewed recently? who knows

Bolded quote...Sorry, was not trying to imply that you were.

The problem with putting a "life" on them, as i see it, is what if, like has happened with me, I stumble across a thread that has not had an answer and I have an answer but its been "locked"? When I started on here, it was SOOO annoying to search, find the appropriate thread, but have no resolution to the OP question. So If i had/have an answer, even if it is 3+ years old, why not be able to answer it so people who are actually searching, can find their answers. I do agree that the .org needs to be cleaned up a little but I think for now, we are just gonna have to deal with the abundance of threads being posted. Make sense??

I think maybe when you register for the .org, there is some "pop-up" that tells you "rules" like search before adding a new thread etc and that is part of your registration process and so you actually see it. Like maybe a pop-up that you have to acknowledge?? Ok, gotta go to work.

Lmao. My cars brake lights don't work. Do you think a bulb is out???? Just kidding.

Seriously how about starting a new sticky titled "my old car just broke and I just purchased it.". Or maybe even a sub section titles general repair/mainance/fix my old car

Its just that you can tell people to search all you want. They wont, nor do they really even know what to search for and thats assuming the search doesn't return threads 5 years old that dont even have a solution. The newcomer wants to come on here and get a quick answer. It sucks but it will always be that way so getting mad at it is a waste of time really. my 2c

ShocknAwe, dude... come on man... Show some respect for the moderators. Kev keeps his ban hand strong so mind your p's and q's. Kev is a cool guy so don't screw yourself any further and get on his bad side. This is the last time I give you any more advise on keeping yourself in check here on the Org. I'm done. Best of luck to you.

In this world of instant gratification what do you expect? Why read and try to learn something on your own when you can just ask other people the answers? This forum is organized far better than many others I've seen. The info is easy to find and is free for the taking.

I'm just going to come out and say it...stupid people. That is the problem. There are an abundance of knuckle-dragging, large forehead heaving, I'm-too-closely-related-to-my-cousin, and generally clueless people on this site. And, "Im sorry, I dont read to gud" isn't an excuse.

But hey...it is a car forum after all.

god frickin dammit. it wasn't 17 years old when I bought new in 95 hell it's just getting broke in. 74K as of last tank of gas though I did notice a slight bubble around 1 inch in diameter on the roof that may indicate rust . btw how long is the fuel pump that left japan in January of 95 s posed to last anyway?.

My problem is that I'm soooo in love with my 4th gen being that I've had her for 12+ years. I feel that I will never get rid of her. She runs great, minor Issues but nothing that can't be resolved. Is that a problem??? Lol

Don't know what to "search"

I found an answer about a stuck moon roof, found the hex under the dome light but then when I cranked to shut everything went dead in my car, so it won't start now. What kind of words would i use?

Here is a GOOD ?

Wife put a low grade gas as well as a Walmart gas additive with a tank less then a 16th. She brings the car back coughing and sputtering and white smoke. Yesterday my mechanic and I changed the spark lug and put in 5gallons of premium to thin out the additives. It cleaned up part of the problem but now we have a gas leak and we spotted a little window on the motor so you can inspect there for what I do not know but my mechanic saw a gas as well it leaks and the car will not start up.
Find the answere.
