Tax money should be here and I'll be picking up a set of these with a test pipe. Excited to feel the gains and hope to shoot a few flames myself.

Ok cause I read somewhere that you need to splice the wires and make them longer so they can reach where they are supposed to thread in. If this is not the case I will buy the headers with my tax return lol

I got confused on the two bungs I had to bung up so I moved stuff around. I'll try to take a picture of it when I look at my exhaust this week.

On Maximus92's 4th gen we didn't relocate any bungs or extend any wires. The o2 sensors will reach, you just have to undo all of those little clips and route the wires so they aren't laying on the headers.

Would you guys trust the other vendors on Ebay? Tuningdepot has a 30$ shipping charge, while others do not.

I just hope they're consistent with their fitting.

Yeah, just check their feedback before purchasing as you would any other seller on eBay.

y pipe

It doesn't bolt up with the stock/aftermarket y pipes on 4th gens right? Did u make a custom y?

I'm thinking of just creating an equal length y pipe for the right sound (vq35de-like) like the gen 1 still y pipe... and if I want more power i'd grab obx 4th gen shorties. I think that would be less hassle if you're just after the proper vq sound.
All u need are equal overall length pipes on both banks before it merges to 1 pipe.

Gotta hear how ur v2s sound... on my phone right now :/

If u could please snap a.couple pics of the trouble spots/required custom work for install that would be awesome... these headers are quite cheap, maybe almost the same as getting a custom y made.

Does that y pipe fit under the car and bolt up no problem to the cat? Reduced ground clearance? I'd love the.proper vq sound and extra top end... would go nice with my 00vi and higher redline

I think other then grinding the crossmember I'm sure the fitment is great. You'd have to ask the OP though. He's already got them on his car.

I will be taking pics of the install process to hopefully answer some questions for some of you.

Man, that video was like 10 secs of silence and 10 secs of low revving... can u please make a longer vid? Couple of.near redline revs (dont shove the Mic right next to it. Place it like 3-4m away and.zoom in on exhaust) then a demo under load ( wot in 2 is long enough). Thanks

were they hard to install in general? I been thinking about getting obx v2's for a while, just wondering if there was any certain problems you had with install so when I buy a pair I'll know ahead of time.. besides rusted bolts I'm sure. let me know!

Yup.

The y pipe hangs about 1" below the cross member.

So would this be a problem if anybody would want to keep the egr system? I just figured I'd ask since stupid Cali has emission tests for us every two frigging years!

I figured I'd just wait the extra year to do the 3.5 swap and get these headers/y-pipe combo until then, to pass smog and have another 2 years free until I have to pay for an illegal smog

Again, sorry to clutter up, but there's then no definite way to hook up the egr into the OBX system, correct?

You would need to have an EGR bung welded onto the rear header.

I have to get my car emissions tested every two years as well, but no sniffer test for me
