i just swap my 97 cluster to a 98-99, everything its fine but i need a b+ wire, cuz every time i turn on my car the trip a and trip b resets by it self any help or advice

i have a 97 max and i wanted to change mine also...did you do it yourself? how did you get the odometer to match up?

you can't get the odometers to match up. the only way is to find one with close to what you have, or buy one with more miles on it, and change it out right when your current says the miles on the new one lol

I did the swap years ago on my '96 to '98 digi gauges, forgot that I even did it at times until someone reminds me.

Anyways I tapped into the wire that powers the clock and that keeps the A & B trip odometers powered up. I forgot which color wire it was but I checked with my voltmeter with the car shut off and found the wire with 12 volts on it constantly.



Not impossible to change the mileage with basic electronics if you can find a replacement '98 ~ '99 digi cluster with lower miles to the '95 ~ ' 97 analog gauges you are swapping out. Fastest work bench ever!





So it is possible to match up the mileage with some electronics knowledge.

The Maxima has about 215K miles on it now and all the gauges still work. Though I do have to replace one of the bulbs that burned out a while back, sheer laziness on my part I guess.

NO! This requires rewiring about 25 wires behind the cluster. If you try to force the plugs into the digi cluster it will short out and damage the cluster.

ive tried doing this as well, pita i wish they made adapter plugs for the 95-97's to convert to the plugs for the 98-99's

Hey will a 99 tach swap over into a 97 cluster?

Cuz I just bought one and I just realized the tach might not fit or wire up lol

The needle is orange on the new one I got, the old one I have is not. This new one has a TCS light too I just noticed
