Universal Keyless Remote

Anyone have any experience with these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-C...Q5fAccessories

I would like get another remote, only have one, and this one looks much nicer and more durable than the factory. I searched all over and could not find the FREQUENCY for the 1995-1999 factory remote. Anyone know what it is?

dang, ebay has really made people cheap. Seems like all the noobs want to find parts for hella cheap, like being cheap not just looking for good deals. You know you can find OE remotes in the classifieds for like $15. Ive got 2 through there.

The FCC ID for the key fob is A269ZUA078. According to this website,

http://www.remotesandkeys.com/Produc...ductCode=4001A

the frequency is 434 MHz.

i got one from ebay too (cant find it now though) but "roll window mode" doesn't work and sometimes it require special button pressing technique to lock and unlock car (frustrating) maybe looking cute but i am switching back to OEM.

FYI. Here's a link to a thread from about a year ago where I discuss the ebay remote I bought. It's still working well.

DennisMik thank you. For $10. I am going to give this remote a try. 434 MHz falls in their range. Like I said, this one looks better than the factory and I really dont want to spend $20-30 on a used factory that has the lettering scratched off. Hopefully the window roll down feature will still work. If not then the remote is no good to me. I use that feature all the time during Texas summers. If I could find brand new for $30 or so that may be different. And I would rather not have Infiniti either.
Maybe it's just me but I dont like having mismatched branding on my car. I do have the I30 rear seat w/ headrest but it does not have the Infiniti logo.

OK. The remote is on it's way and will preprogramed to 434 MHz.
I will update once it comes in. Hopefully everything will work like the factory. I think the only real risk is the window roll down and I don't see any reason that would not work if the unlock button functions properly.

fool, the used oem remotes work alot better than the aftermarket ones anyday. their still cheap and im sure you could find a clean one for a dollar or 2 more. aftermarket ones are junk from what i heard and seen.

Sunshine, I don't think ANY 434 MHz will work. This one has the ability to clone itself from an existing remote.
max, for $10 I am willing to see what happens, I don't think that makes me a fool. I am just not that happy with the quality of the USED remotes available and I do not want a Infiniti remote.

Over all, I'm a believer in "you get what you pay for". Every product has a cheap replacement available that will work for some length of time, just probably not as long as the original.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but my 97 is still working fine on the original Nissan remote. Not bad for 14 years. I hope it lasts as long as the car, but if it doesn't, well, maybe I'll get a non-oem one. That decision will be based on how long I think I will keep the car.

DennisMik, I agree with you on the "you get what you pay for" front generally speaking. But sometimes, and I am hoping this is one of those times, the amount we pay for items is greatly scewed by mark up. The iphone case at the apple store for $35.00 that you get online for $5.00.
I know this remote could be garbage or it could last 2-3 years or longer. If I can get a couple years out of this aftermarket remote than my $10 was well spent. I obviously will keep the factory as a back up and I am always on the look for good condition OEM replacements.
And I am planning on keeping the '97 Max for a while. This is my 3rd one, '95 GLE white/tan leather (over 300k sold it to a friend), '98 SE white/black leather (totaled in rear end collision) and now '97. Rather than sell it and put an additional $3-4k to buy a newer Max or G35 I have decided to start putting that money back into the car I know. 3.5 swap, suspension, upgrade interior (350Z or '04 Max) and finish off the stereo. I have a 13 y/o son that is looking forward to it.
Then I will get something else.

Just buy an OE remote from ebay.
They are super easy to program.
