Lol somebody last week thought my Max was a Stanza. How do you own a car, and not know what it is?

He's flipping salvage cars, not the "owner". Doesn't know doesn't care although he should.

Not necessarily. I knew nothing about cars when I bought my Maxima, I had no idea how many cylinders it had and frankly, I didn't care as long as it worked.

Yikes... Even if you aren't the owner and are just selling it for someone, shouldn't you have at least SOME knowledge of the car?

I think Nissan did sell a 4 cyl Max in other parts of the world, but not North America. It could have been brought in but that is an expensive thing because you have to have the car modified to US pollution and safety standards.

I'm pretty sure asand1 nailed it -

I am with you aackshun (unless you are joking). I would love to strip the maxi down, upgrade the suspension, and put in a MUCH more efficient 2.5. My dream target would be around 35mpg, after much body, aero, and engine work while keeping a comfortable interior.

One of my dreams were to do that in a 4th gen (i'd still keep the solid rear axle cause too many people hate on it lol).

I dont think there has ever been a 4cyl Maxima/Cefiro in any part of the world. Only the VQ20DE, VQ25DE or VQ30DE for the A32 model.

people are so dumb sometimes

I guess it would be acceptable if it were a 6 cyl altima and he accidentally said 4 cyl altima, but come on, its a maxima, get with it here, people sometimes need to have some knowledge in many subjects instead of much knowledge in one subject.

i can kinda agree with schmellyfart.
when i first bought a 90 acura legend ls, i was surprised to see that it was a 6 cylinder (majority of honda's to me back then were 4 bangers).

But the maxima, i knew that was a v6 from the get go.

one of my old neighbors i got into it with when i had a VE, he thought it was a 4 cyl.
