bout to give up on the car:( more dek swap idle issues.
ok so yesterday i went to do a tuneup, oil, filter, fuel filter, spark plugs etc. while i was doing it, i decided to make a block off plate for the power rod on the dek swap. succesful. but we noticed my car was missing before hand so we decided to try and look at that.
i let the car idle, pulled the connector off of each coil listening for a difference in sound, the front three worked, i noticed a dip in the motor and when i plugged it back in, the motor came back up where it should be. but my back three, when i pulled the plug on them, the motor did nothing! wtf!? all threee cant be bad and the car still run like really?!
THEN when we got done, i was looking at my iacv because my car has been idling at 1000 since i swapped it so i was going to look at it, pulled the plug off swapped it around etc, didnt do anything but then all the sudden, it alll went to $hit. now my idle is retarted. yesterday, it would idle high, then float at 500 flawlessly, but then die later on.
now today i got into my car to go to work and it started fine, idled at 1000 and about 2 minutes later i noticed it sounded weird and put it in neutral and it was bouncing between 1500 and 2k! i just got done reading alot of threads and cant pinpoint any obvious causes. im going to look tomorrow to check for any vacc leaks, bad iacv, etc. someone plz help. im about to give up and trade the damn thing. butttttt i love this car too much.
btw i have 97 with a 2000 dek. fulll swap. dek everything.

all im saying is lemme get them sideskirts if u trade or sell.....
im messing with ya. how is your iacv wiring done? the method where you trim the connector and flip it backwards? if so, you really gotta make sure the pins are bent jussssst right. ive had issues like this many times, and it always get better when i mess with the connector a little more.
otherwise, did you drop the oring by any chance? maybe theres a leak now? idk, just throwing out suggestions.

nah i nevery pulled the iacv off, and can you explain or find me a thread on the wiring thing, i broke the plastic housing off of the part that goes INTO the iacv. so i didnt mess with the iacv itself. and what about the pins? i didnt mess with them,, you saying they need to be bent?!?:/ or not bent. cuz they shouldnt be now but they may be idk

ill look for the thread on it in a second....but yeah, you broke the plastic housing. and you flip it backwards from how it is stock... but in the process, the pins inside the grey plastic housing dont line up perfectly with the IACV pins. So you have to bend 3 of the pins on the IACV very slightly so that the connector plugs into the IACV properly.
