EGR Valve Problems

I am wondering if my EGR valve is not operating properly. When the car is idling, I can hear the EGR valve tapping erratically. I pulled vacuum on the EGR, and it seems to be okay (Haynes manual), as well as the EGR control solenoid valve, the EGR BPTC.

The metal tube on the EGR valve tends to get plugged up. Maybe that's what has happened to yours.

Wouldn't cause valve probs. The guide tube is in a different system. Usually the EGR valve has a CEL when it breaks. Check the connection on the green sensor by the KS.

Thanks for the responses. The tube was super cleaned when I did the overhaul on my engine.

I will check that connector to the EGR solenoid valve. I did check the valve for proper operation. But I guess I should check the connection too.
