changing engine but broke something lol

ok heres a few pics first one is the damage




second one is what i broke ugh what is that sensor in front of the blue one do i have to buy a new one and splice it in it has no connector

dang it looks like mine! ahaha big hole! good job! and the thing you broke is a ground or something...i have mine laying somewhere that came off my de. theres a connector that just slides on it. if you really need it i can try and find it and send it to u for free...aka postage stamp haha

Blue plug is the ECTS Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. This sends a signal to the ECU that will effect idle speed if not connected. There is a thread about checking the sensor. The "plug" in front of this is the sending unit to the heat gauge on the dash. I believe there is also comments about this on the same thread. I think that if the single wire is not connected the gauge will not work but no effect on the operation of the car,
