O2 Sensor - Emissions - Questions

Okay so I've done some searching and I wanted to make sure that what I came up with was right.

My car flunked emissions the CO2 value was 24 and the threshold is 20. Recently I had an engine light for Front Left O2 Sensor. I've also had my rear sensor go bad a while back.

* From what I gather (if i was cheap) I would only want to replace the front left sensor. This should help the fuel mixture I believe?

* The rear sensor doesn't have any bearing on emissions?

(1995 maxima)
So i pulled up the Rock Auto catalog:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,5132

and there are TONS of sensors. Could somebody offer advice as to which sensor I should buy? I believe some you have to "crimp" wires and some you don't? I may just take it to the shop to have it installed but I was hoping somebody could offer some advice.

Thanks so much for all the help information on this website.
-Jeff

I just changed my O2 sensor on the front right (back header) and it was easy. I just went to advanced auto and picked it up prewired. All i had to do was screw it in and plug the other end in... It was very simple. did it in 30 min with a HOT motor.

www.02sensors.com And order the direct OE replacement. No crimping wires, just plug and drive away.

all o2 sensor need to be in working order for you to pass emissions. The rear o2 sensor checks the condition of the main cat.

Well,

I passed emissions. My CO or CO2 levels went from 24 to .7 when only replacing the front 2 O2sensors. The rear one is still out of wack.
