fog lights install 95-96 write up with pics

so today i was at the junk yard and came across a 96 max with fog lights. My 95 max didnt come with them so i bought the lights and mounting brackets and headlight stalk with fog light switch all for 20 bucks and came home to install them heres my write up

parts u will need mind u this is for 95-96

2 fog lights
2 mounting brackets
1 headlight stalk with fog light switch
1 blue relay

tools you will need phillips head screwdriver
10mm socket
die grinder with various wheels to grind and sand
1 drill bit dosent matter the size
1 can of touch up paint that matches ur car color got mine at advance auto for 6 bucks

die grinder

start out with the drill bit and cut a hole try not to go out side the raised lines

use grindin wheels to get it how u want it then mount ur brackets in the wires and connector for the fog are taped be hind the bumper there are three holes also behind the bumper to mount the brackets

mount lights

then u want to pull apart the cover around the steerin wheel and remove old headlight stalk and in stall new the connecter for the fog lights will be taped to the wires going to the headlight stalk connect that and reinstall every thing headlight stalk is held on by 2 phillips head screws then u will need one blue relay to but in the relay box on the left side relay box under the hood left side if you are lookin under the hood it labled front fog an your done

Good etiquette says you should let him finish his beer before you give him his next challenge.

Great job man. I did this a couple months ago and instead of using the headlight stalk, I just wired it into the parking lights. Only downfall is I can't turn the fogs off at night but driving with fogs on make the car look so much better so I love it.

Great work. Here are a couple links from the 4th Gen How-To Sticky: Link 1 and Link 2. I'm guessing you'll use link 2.

Hmmm, so all Maximas come w/the plug for the fog lights even if you didn't order them? I guess that makes sense from a manufacturing viewpoint.

What things could you look at that would give away someone had done this already to your Maxima?? I recently bought a Maxima and am suspicious the previous owner did this mod because those 'clips' that are supposed to be there to remove the fog lights do not exist.
