98 manual ecu cali-spec fit into my 99 auto fed-spec??

I have been searching for an entire day and i cant seem to find the right answers I'm looking for, so its time for me to ask... i know this will seem odd to some but this is my question. I have a chance to buy a 98 manual ecu cali-spec with the entire harness and an EU already attached that i want to put into my 99 auto fed-spec max. my question is would it be possible to change everything, all the harness and ecu over to mine and make it work? thanks for any response guys, I'm really stumped.

Should be pnp for the most part. The only issue i see would be with the emission stuff.

How can he get swirl codes if he's going to a 98 cali ecu? I thought the 99 cali fed specs are the only ones with swirl valves?

a auto ecu will work with a manual trans.. However a manual ecu, will not control an auto trans.

If your max was swapped over to a 5spd, then you don't need to worry about nothing. The harness should have all the connections for the 5spd stuff.

That's what I was worried about cause I have an auto and the ECU I can get is from a manual and I'm not in the right place with cash enough to do an auto to 5-speed swap right now. What about getting the harness for the 98 and just get a 98 auto ECU, would that work. Thanks again guys.

You can get a 98 auto harness and ecu and put it into your 99. Once you do the 5spd swap, then pop in the 98 manual ecu.

Im pretty sure you can switch two wires and plug the 99 harness into 98. I could be way off, its just reading no experience.
