5 cars later back to a maxima (PICS)

Hey guys. It has been a long long time. Well i just bought another maxima. 1997 5-Speed. It has 176k miles for 2500. Runs just as well as my old 1996 5-speed with 68k miles. Cant believe i got rid of her. Well im back to finish what i started. All maintenance and mods will be done by myself and Turbo95Max at his shop http://www.TheShopSanBruno.com/.

Let the modding begin!

My new Max

My old max

Ha ha I know what you mean when you said "went through 5 cars only to come back to Max!" Up till 2002 I had a 98 Max which was traded in then went through 2 Accords, Nis Pathfinder, Volks Passat and now have a 2002 Max. Always wanted one but wasn't able to find one in my price range with decent miles. And one day Bam 2002 Max (6 Spd with all options cept for Navi) with 54K miles for $9995. I jumped all over that!

I'll be making my return to the Maxima seen sooner than later. I've been through 3 4th gens, 95, 96, and 97, an 88 Buick regal, and a 95 Accord V6, and I think I need to return to the VQ action lol. Being on this forum brings all the memories back. Those HP Evos are dope.

Lets see my last maxima sold it for a 1990 red 300zx 2+2 auto to 1991 black 300zx 2 seater manual to 1990 silver 300zx Twin turbo to 2004 mercedes benz blue auto to 2006 mercedes benz white auto and now back to the maxima lol. Oh and also a 2007 yamaha r6 somewhere between those.

Going to repaint all the imperfections. there is alot you can see up close. As far as the mod list umm.

Diamond cut clear corners
HID's
Red/Clears
Cefiro Headlights
Full Ionic Kit
Coilovers (undecided which one)
wheels (undecided which one)
intake (undecided which one)
exhaust (undecided which one)
WS Y-Pipe
STS
Leather conversion
Re-tint
Alarm
Alot of small things like maxima gauge rings and gauge mod stuff like that.

I think thats it im sure i forgot some stuff that i will probably remember later in the build. I already got most of the maintance out of the way which it drastically needed. Plugs, tranny fluid, oil, TB clean, Idle adjust, coolant flush. Still need to change fuel filter.

Good choice man, I've recently purchased my first.

I let my grandfather drive it today and now he is into one, Told me he liked it(a 98) better than his new focus.

Little ego boost can't hurt

Mine is in near the same body-shape as yours (wear), can't wait to see what you do with it.

Like the mod list. But after you paint it, do performance mods first. Good luck and keep us updated.

lol It's a great car for the price. It is still my favorite car besides the power over course. cant compare it to my 300z. And ya there is alot on miror things body and paint wise. I actually have a really big dent on the right rear quarter panel but my friend owns a body shop. Left front fender needs to be repiaited due to rust and same with the hood and rear bumper i dont know what the hell the owner did to that thing. Looks like they played bumper cars or something. I have a picture that i will put up with my inspiration. Always wanted a peral white 5-speed. Specially after my friend "The Russian" got his max to long ago (aka Turbo95Max replica) i fell in love with the pearl white.

Thanks. Im not planning to do way too much performance. just minor bolt ons. But the plan is actually paint the car/fix the body of it then buy all the mods im going to do and drop it in all at once. Totally transform the car over night.

I purchased mine at 153k, for the same price as you paid, I think we both struck a great deal!

The pearl white you have there is really nice looking (Mines a dark green), I'd love to re-paint mine but I live in Western PA. Coal-truck country. There was a black soot all over the car after i bought it, nasty stuff, Couldn't imagine having a white car around here .

Oh yea, Is that a SE?

Diamond cut clear corners
HID's
Red/Clears
Cefiro Headlightsthere is a better fitting option now... search r34 nissan maxima headlights either on this forum or ebay.
Full Ionic KitI am not sure on how the price point is between this kit and the stillen kit, but looks wise, I feel that the stillen kit nailed it. The front has the "step" where as the iconic kit doesn't. And the rears on the iconic kit just don't look finished. IMHO
Coilovers (undecided which one)
wheels (undecided which one)
intake (undecided which one)not much left to choose from... stillen, jwt are the same thing. EASY filter changes, but some claim they lack the power of different options. Injen is NOT a true CAI. I think I would just hack the intake. Poormans intake FTW.
exhaust (undecided which one) probably gonna have to go custom... although cattman I believe still makes his. could be wrong on that one though.
WS Y-Pipe good enough option for the price.
STS[COLOR="Red"]B&M. there is a member with one f/s right now in the 4th gen f/s section. OR...there is one (cosmo racing???) on ebay that some members have has major fitment issues with./COLOR]
Leather conversion
Re-tint
Alarm
Alot of small things like maxima gauge rings ahave to get a set of those used, as paradox doesn't make them anymore. They HARDLY EVER come up in the f/s section.nd gauge mod stuff like that.

I think thats it im sure i forgot some stuff that i will probably remember later in the build. I already got most of the maintance out of the way which it drastically needed. Plugs, tranny fluid, oil, TB clean, Idle adjust, coolant flush. Still need to change fuel filter.
I would use the 300zx fuel filter for sure. hope those little suggestions help you out. Cheers and happy modding.

Bad beam pattern and not willing to do retro. Plus Turbo95Max knows how to make it so u cant even tell there is bad fitment. Cefiros look better in my opinion as well.

It was a hard choice but the user "The Russian" my friend pulls it off. i was actually thinking more ionic sides and rear and stillen front.

I am going custom i just havent decided what muffler to use yet.

Thanks for the tips but i know what im doing. I do my research and use the "search" function. I know whats out there and whats not. Not trying to sound harsh or anything or any disrespect. Im just not a noob when it comes to maxima's or any cars in that matter. I appreciate your advice cause if i was new to all this i would have needed some help. Thanks

David L's are the ****! I absolutely love mine. I'm on my second set, my other ones I sold for $90 and my current ones I bought for $40 and made them myself.
