no charging below 1500 rpm
Hello Everyone.
Today on my way to work when I stopped on red ligth and engine went to idle I noticed that battery and brake ligth went ON. I did rev engine and lights went off. When engine dropped to idle light came back. What the hell??
I did replace my alternator less than 3 yrs ago and I didnt make more than 40k miles.
I will chack voltage tonight and I hope thats a small thing, nothing major.
Thnx for your help guys.

my batt and brake light have been on for the past year and a half. The car still hasn't died on me yet and the battery always seems to be charging ok. I'm sure my alt. is slowly going, but, as far as I can tell, nothing has gotten any worse since the lights came on. I'll replace my alt. when the time comes, but until then I'll just ignore the two red lights on the dash...

autozone remans only replace the failed part not all the guts. so if it was the diode thats all the change. then they throw it on the tester and it reads right they stamp it approved. Thats why they do lifetime warrantee.

Yeah I learned my lesson there and went to the dealership and bought it. Same $250 and $60 core charge as long as its OEM. If you want to know if its OEM, the alternator would be green.

Yeah they are trust me... and I plan to run mine into the grave. It been to the insurance undertaker three times and back and will not let it go...since they only offered me $400 for it...they can kiss my behind for one front fender, bumper, and headlight damage and want to write it off..
