HELP! Clutch problem...where to start

Hey fellow maxima enthusiast,

I had the weirdest thing happen to me about 2 weeks ago. I was driving my car and went to exit. As I was approaching the red light I began to push in my clutch, about 1/4 of the way in it seemed to lose pressure (no resistance) and I then couldn't put my car into gear.

I managed to drive it home in 4th gear the whole time. I got home, turned off the engine and restarted it. Clutch was fine. I haven't driven it since, it's sitting in my drive way for fear that it will stall out on me again during rush hour or something.

Sorry for the lack of details but I have no idea what's going on. Please help me!

Check to see if there is enough fluid in the master cyl. Check for leaks.

Might have to refurb/replace the master and/or slave cyl

Clutch master cylinder is where you put the clutch fluid (brake fluid) its located on the driver side firewall next to the brake master cylinder but slightly lower and more towards the fender and a bit more hidden. Make sure its filled to the max line.

Clutch Slave cylinder is kind of located where the engine and trans mate, I'd say is somewhat 12to 18 inches to the left of where the relay box in front of the battery is located.

Id post pictures but dont have any at the moment. Have you checked the FSM?

They should be in MT

If you go to autozone.com they have repair guides as well, they are very helpful. Just register and it's good to go
