Brake pedal will not go down, ABS light on
Hey guys, this tsaulz's brother and I recently ran into some braking problems with my max. I was driving for about 2 minutes and then coming to a stop light, I push down on the brake pedal but there is way too much resistance. I'm trying to slam on the brakes but the pedal will hardly move and the car will not slow down (feels like my car stalled but everything else has power). Then the ABS light comes on. After 2-3 seconds, when I push down on the brake pedal again, it works like normal and I am able to slow down. The fuse and brake fluid levels are fine. Thanks a lot for the help.

First thing that comes to mind is the booster. But the ABS light could mean something else is going on. Is the ABS activating under normal braking conditions? If it does it again, pull the fuse for the ABS and see if that resolves the issue. If not, then definately look into replacing the booster.

I have the same problem. Had my crank shaft oil seals replaced (tranny and pulley side). When the repair was done, the ABS light was on. Had it checked and found out some wires leading to the ABS pump was fried. I replaced the wires still the ABS light is on.
Sometimes the ABS light would turn off and I can hear the ABS pump work (grinding and vibrating sound when I step on the brakes) then the pump would shut then the ABS light is on again. Any places to check? Is my ABS module bad or is it the ABS pump?
