Revised TPS Adjustment(TSB-NTB99-053b)
Has anyone done this revised procedure, setting the TPS by the ON/OFF position, using a feeler gauge, instead of the variable test (500 ohms - 4k ohms)?
Testing mine, I got continuity with both feeler gauge thicknesses.(.012 & .016 in)
So I adjusted the TPS so no continuity with .016 gauge, and now the low ohms is 600, and WOT is 4.3k.
Car seems to drive fine so far, pulling harder, shifting better and more consistent.
Note: I will update this thread, as time goes by, if their are any changes in driving.

And what compelled you to replace the TPS?
I've noticed now, when I drive the car, while it's warming up, going up a hill, I get a very slight yoyo effect. I've had this before. I did have the #3 code(TPS unit) when I did the AT test as well. Not sure if it's still getting that error.
But so far, when it's fully warmed up, I dont get the yoyo effect.

Update:
I wanted to fine tune the TPS today using the revised method, and backchecking via old method(variable).
When I went to check the minimum variable value, it was 1.7Kohms; I had set it to 610ohms.
So I reckon it's on it's way out, especially considering the only reason I went to adjust it in the first place was because the tranny wasn't picking up on it correctly, throwing the #3 code.
And the year my car was made is 11/94, so it's the expensive tps.

Rob,
Read my detailed post regarding TPS. They're only about $63.00

Had to send the one I got from rockauto because it was used. Looked like someone threw an old one in the box, and someone didn't check it.

Update: Finally got a new tps. Car feels a lot smoother and consistent on accel. I punched it a time or too, and it feels even stronger now.
The old TPS had some roughness to it on initial twist, so it was on it's way out.
Used revised method, using the AT pins. Variable is set at 545 ohms(idle) - 4.3k ohms(WOT).
