not sure if i just got lucky or what, but this took no time at all.

-soak towel in some rubbing alcohol
-place soaked towel over emblem and squeeze a lil to allow the alcohol to get to the glue
-heat for just a min with hair dryer
-fishing wire to get it off (both emblems stayed fully intact)
-rubbing alcohol wipe got most residue off
-rubbing compound
-polishing compound
-wax
-done

Nice my fellow Georgian! I think the soaking the towel in alcohol really helped. It probably softened up the adhesive.

another trick used in body shops is using dental floss to take the emblem off (instead of using fishing line). Using a waxed floss helps to "lube" it but you can also use a soapy water solution to help keep things slippery.
Then, use Murphy's Oil Soap to remove any glue residue. That won't cut the was off of the paint.

I think the comment about the beige was meaning that there would be sun fade and you could still see where the letters where. Part of why I'm in no hurry to pull the trim on my maroon truck. Threej21, can you see where the letters where at all? I have pearl white and figured it would be forgiving to pull the pin stripe. I had seen some darker Maximas with the letters shaved and didn't particularly like it. This one has changed my mind.

if you get right up on it, at an angle, and look for where they used to be, you can kind of see it. but after a few more wash/polish/waxes it should be gone completely. i also removed pin stripe from this same car and it left nothing behind.
its all very easy. heat is your best friend when doing these tasks. cold vinyl and cold adhesive arent plyable and just chip away. hit it with the ol hair dryer and youll peel 5-6 inch pieces of the pin stripe off at a time. heat, pull. when it stops pulling, heat again and pull

^^LOL ok and yeah that is true. Mine is no where near as clean as the OP's after debadging it. His looks all one solid color, while on mine you can see the letters a little.

Haha I remembered reading those de-badging threads a long time ago and everyone made it sound like the badges were welded onto the car. But my glue between the badge and the car was pretty dried out and old and so it basically just fell off after I started.

But I didn't use fishing wire or floss, I have no idea what it is called but it is those little white or yellow plastic straps they put on TV boxes or refrigerator boxes to help keep it sturdy and you have to cut them to open the box. But they worked wonders the texture of the straps kind of helped pull the glue off rather than cut it.

But when I was done there were still some slight markings of the letters and so I just used a compound (Which I found out was the same stuff in scratch removers) and a polish, then wax, and everything was flawless!

yup.. i did mine a couple months back.. looks clean bro.. i used clogatre floss instead of fishing wire and it worked almost as good too.. i had to buff my trunk because the nissan emblem left little light scratches..
