Help locating the EGR Solenoid valve.

Okay. I searched and searched thru this forum and most of the time when I find the thread that will reveal where the EGR Solenoid valve is located, the webpage is not found or the photo that hosts the pics is gone. I've read thru the stickies and it doesn't mention where this thing is located. I looked near the dip stick and I don't see any green plug.

One post says that he doesn't have it on his car and the plug is brown (????).

I'm looking for this right?

This is the car.. a 1997 Maxima. ..If someone can pinpoint me to the right area..please.

While I'm at it, I'm looking for the EGR-BPT valve as well...

Thanks Guys!!

You can just barely see it in the second picture you posted. See the accelerator and cruise control cables? Look just below them and a little to the left, and you'll see the fuel pressure regulator, a brass-colored round part with a black vacuum hose coming out of the bottom. From there, look just a little down and a little left, and you see a splotch of green. That's your EGRC solenoid valve. It's just to the right of the "valley" underneath the intake manifold.

The EGR-BPT valve is well concealed. It's approximately below and to the right of the throttle body (if you're standing on the driver's side of the car), covered up by hoses and other stuff.

Turns out I had a picture:

It's the green part in the center of the picture.

Great!! I see it now!!! Thanks a million!..and Happy new year!

I removed my throttle/Iac as well...what does a EGR-BPT look like? I think it's the one next to the EGR tube and has 2 screws on top of it and it's round and thin?

Is this it? (the egr bpt)..the one with the two screws

Thanks again....with my throttle and IACV out, the Solenoid valve should be easy to replace.

How do you remove it? (the egrc-BPT). I can take out the two screws but what about that little square metal piece on top?

Also, what is under it? Is it just a hose to unclamp?

(Sorry I'm not near my car right now and I'm planning on doing this early tomorrow morning.

Thanks!

Just wanted to follow-up on this - were you able to remove the valve? Also, does anyone know the part numbers for the hoses in the pictures? Thanks!

Question...I'm hearing what sounds like an exhaust noise coming from that area, mostly when I rev the motor and let it come back to idle...could it possibly be the EGR or EGR-BPT? The EGR valve seems to be holding vacuum. I haven't checked the EGR-BPT since i didn't know what it was until after I had put the air cleaner back on. Can either valve make strange noises like that if they fail? Would seem to make some sense, but I've never heard of the situation.

If the EGR tube has a crack or any of the EGR gaskets are bad then yes.

I can't feel any pulsing, but that area is tight, so I need to look at those components a little closer.

Sorry I'm a little late on the reply...Yes I did get it off, it was a real pain. The screw is at the bottom and you need a twisted wrench to get it. It sits on a bracket and I had to bend it a little in order to get my hand under that screw.
I don't have the part numbers because I didn't replace the hoses. I inspected them and they were fine.
