car dying, running out of power (alterator or battery)
so i bought a 1997 Maxima GLE from auction, that had a little damage on the passengers side. so when the car was towed home, i started it. it worked.
car stood for a month, battery was dead. jump started, and drove it, and it stalled when coming to a stop after 2 miles of driving.
tested volts, car at cold, (RPM at like 1400) it get around 13.2. when it was warm, (RPM 800) it went down to like 12.7.
turn the A/C on. cause ppl said the power is supposed to go up, but it slowly went down. 12.6, 12.4, 12.2. got to 11.3 and i turn the ac off. car idles ok. doesnt seem to bog down when i turned the radio and lights on.
so my question is this. does this seem like the alternator?
and also, is there any impotant wires that are by the passenger headlight? like the ground?
thanks guy. i wanna get this maxima running

There is a ground by the right headlight, as well as the alternator wiring harness in that area.
Have you not taken it to have the charging system tested? If you suspect the alternator, that's the first logical course of action...

test it again,
car not running measure the volt
start up the car volt should go up atlease .5V
at high rpm should go up atlease .7V but not more than 2V
say u start at 12.5 start up the car should read atlease 13V and at high RPM it should not go over 14.5.
abouve all, the batterl should never be lower than 9.6V because thats how much starter need to turn the flywheel.

i tested it, and they both failed. battery and alternator. i had them tested 3 times.
and the grounds, i found them, they are ok.
weird thing is that they sell 110 amp and 125 amp, but mines is 100 amp. i have a 97 GXE. i was wondering, can i put in a 125 amp in my car? its a little cheaper, and later on, ill be putting on a sound system
