They'll hold up for a bit since that's a little more than a mild drop but don't expect them to last forever. GR2's are like a stock replacement.

Get some AGX's or Illumina's.

I have been using this setup for about a year and a half with no problems. The ride is great.

They are more of a stock replacement...just like Tokico blues.

They aren't recommended for drops of more than 1.5". Yes it'll work, but in the long run you'll wish you had sprung (no pun intended) for better struts.

I just installed kyb gr2's and eibach pro kit. 1.5" front drop and 1.3" rear. The rear is fine but the front feels like crap. Feels like it's bottoming out on everything. Maybe I didn't cut the bump-stops enough? Other than that the handling is pretty good and with pilot sport plus tires it's a good amount of grip for the street.

as long as you cut the top bump, section, you should be fine. i have the same drop and it'll take awhile for the springs to settle and the drop to feel right.

i never had a problem with the gr2's at all. and they're def better than stock. i blew out the stock rears i replaced in a little over a year and the ride was really no better. i've had the gr2's for 2 years and the rides alot better than the stock ever was.

I cut 1.5 ribs of the skinny side. I knew I needed to cut more but that's what happens when you have other people standing around pretending they know what they are doing. I'm going to take the fronts apart again and cut off more bump-stop. So you're saying cut everything off except the last/biggest part of the bump stop?

I only cut the bottom (between 2&3) or the bottom and half of the next one. I was supposed to cut from 3 to 1? I've got to rent the spring compressor and fix this asap!

You don't need to get spring compressors to cut those. Just get a knife, that's what I did.

Its a bad setup. Its either bouncy or as rough as it gets.

It can't be that bad. I've read that with the struts set to 3F/6R it's actually pretty good with Eibach's.

They are kind of stiff. Actually even the GR2's are pretty stiff.
I found the AGX's to be OK on the stock springs the first year I had them. Winters are tough on them, the ride goes down hill as the temp goes down. After about 20K miles I couldn't get them to ride nice no matter what setting I used. They just lost there ability to absorb bumps and the ride became pretty harsh. I run GR2's in my Explorer and the ride is definately very firm. They handle nice, but they don't ride very smooth. The best riding strut, hands down are the Illuminas. Rode them for years, put almost 100K on a set.

Best stock replacement for your buck, Monroe Matics or the Sensatracks. For under 200 bucks (with a coupon) you can put 4 new dampers on a stock Max. The Sensatracks will run you a bit more.
They both ride firm, yet absorb bumbs nicely and definately handle better then the softer riding Tokico Blues.

My .02 cents..
