reliable HID kit?

Every year that I take my car out of storage to drive in the winter something always goes bad with my lights... usually its bulbs... but then I start to think maybe the ballasts just suck and cause the bulbs to go bad all the time. I am kinda tired of replacing **** every year... is there a decent kit at a decent price sold somewhere? I havn't been in the loop on this site for a while so idk whos selling good stuff nowadays. Where do most of you guys go to buy HID kits? I am looking for D2S 4300K in perticular. I have custom made TSX projector R34 headlights.

I recommend you buy OEM bulbs. Kit bulbs suck! You can get some 85122 or 85122+ bulbs on ebay for like $50.

if you're looking for a hid kit, i'd suggest looking at DDMTuning.com. they have a hid kit for $40 AND it comes with a one year warranty. their rep seems pretty solid.

I have been looking into this company as well. The $40 kit is Raptor brand and I've seen only good reviews. It's $40 plus shipping. I'll be buying from these guys soon.

Don't use those chinese junk bulbs. Philips 85122 or nothing. You can use ebay junk ballasts with it, or you can buy a pair of OEM ballasts. It's cheaper to buy a $150 set of OEM bulbs and ballasts and use it for five years than it is to burn through a $50 chinese junk kit every year.

In my opinion, this is the best site for your retrofitting needs:
http://store.theretrofitsource.com.
They have brand new Phillips 85122+ bulbs for 75ish + shipping.
As for ballasts and ignitors, I got the 3rd Gen Matsu****as ballasts with igniters for around 160ish a pair. Comes with pigtails and mounting brackets.
A word of warning though: When I got my set, It said black was positive, and red was negitive. I went against that and went with my own experience. Red was positive and black is negitive. Other than that, I had no major issues with it.

I'l probably be going for the FX-R projectors sometime in the summer, unless someone wants to gift me

I bought my kit from China on eBay... have had quite a few problems in the year I've owned it and my passenger bulb just burned out 2 days ago...

anyone recommend a good source for a cheap fast bulb just to be legal while I save up for some quality OEM?

try mydepots.com. Good prices and I know of a few people that highly recommend them. I'll be trying their bi-xenon kit when I get the money.

What about the HIDextra.com, who is a sponsor of this site (under Dealership and Vendor Experiences)? I have been reading a lot about them on this site, and trying to decide. No one on this thread has even mentioned them yet!

Just bought the DDM ones today. Should be here in about 5 days it said. How bright and blue are the 10000k's? Are they annoyingly bright and should I exchange them? Who else has them on their Max and could I hear some imput on them? Thank you in advance!

lets put it this way.. the higer the kelvin the light is.. the less visibility you will get, but the more the color will show... 10,000k is like a really deep blue, may have bluish / purple to it, i have yet to see one.. unless someone can post pics.. and i don't think you will want 10,000k. i'd rather stick with 4,300k 6,000k or 8,000k.. i currently have 8,000k on my max.
