Car Battery... Need to replace it asap!

Hey all,

Car battery is almost gone and need to replace it.

Where is the best place to buy battery besides locally? What brand and model should i get?

Currently using Die Hard(sears) right now which served me pretty well over the years.

Thanks

just get the one for around $50 at costco, it has a 3 year warranty and works great. so what if its cheap, it has worked for many years in my car wit no problems. unless you have tons of high voltage stereo equipment it works fine.

Thanks guys! Think i might go back to Die Hard since i've had a pretty good experience with it.

Was just wondering what everyone else is using and maybe change mine but i'll probably stick with DH.

Thanks

All family cars have kirkland batteries and they work great, unless you have a large system they should be fine and cheap along with a decent guarantee (3yr 100% 100 month prorated)

Kirkland batteries are made by Johnson Control, makers of the die hard line of batteries.

Figure out what size you need and go to walmart and buy it there.

Seriously though, Sears, Advanced Auto, etc. I got a new battery from AA for like $80 after coupon and core, 3 year warranty.

Seriously, if you didn't have a problem with the die hard you have now, just get another one, people rag on the wal-mart (n)everstart, but I've never had a problem with them...

Duralast

I have had good luck with Duralast in my cars, trucks, and my boat. Autozone's are everywhere if you ever have a problem.

Why not stick with the Nissan OEM battery. I replaced mine after 8 years of use and it was $82...less than the Sears Diehard. If you go with the cheaper batteries, I'm sure you will be replacing them in 3-4 years.

Just another opinion...good luck.

Thanks guys!

It looks like it's between Optima Red and Die Hard. OEM is around $150ish.

Update!

Wanted to update you guys and again thank you all for your help.

Decided on the Optima Red Top 34R instead of the Die Hard Gold.

Couple of reasons i choose the Optima 34R was because it has a higher cold cranking amps(800) vs Die Hard Gold(700). Optima weighs in at 37.9lbs vs 42lbs. Although the one advantage Die Hard Gold has is it's reserve capacity(RC) which is 120mins vs 100mins(34R).

Both comes with 3yrs warranty.

Price point i did have to pay a little more for the Optima 34R($175 tax, install included) and the Die Hard was around $139(tax, install included).

Overall i'm satisfied with my decision. This has been a great car throughout the years since i've owned it.

Specs on both batteries below

This is great information - I need to go to costco today so I will see what they have and Sears is around the corner.

One question - is there any tricks/tips to changing the battery in a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE?

This car has more electronics than my motorcycles and I don't want to screw anything up.

Ooops - wrong forum - got here through the search and didn't realize that I had gotten to the 4th gen section. darn noobs
