HO alternators. Anyone know where I can get one good price?

So I am upgraded to a 2000+ rms sound system. I have all upgraded 0 gauge wire coming and I have an extra battery but I might want more amprage because I will run in lower ohms.

So I wanted to know if anyone here got any High output alts and where to get them. (if they know anyone that makes them) or if there are any on group deals. I did google search and found they can run upwards into the $600 range. I am hoping there is cheaper out there. I mean we do have an import, I am hoping there is $200-ish ones out there.

Thanks

I have a 2nd cap battery anyways. It is just when you run into the 2K and up range u shud always look into a HOAlt so you don't clip.

I have one, but your right it wasnt cheap but just a bit more then the price of a brand new dealer unit.
I purchased mine from here,
http://www.mean-green.com/index.html
Its not listed on their site, but I called them and they had one for the Maxima.
Its the same size as the OEM unit, put the pulley on it is a bit smaller.

I ordered one from these guys way back in the day. You will need to replace that hook bolt with a standard one in order to use the aftermarket alternator. Price was reasonalble. You will also need to size up a smaller belt to run this also.

I would look into getting the current alternator rewound at a shop. I never did it for my max but I had my 85A alt in my first car (chevy celebrity) rewound to a 115A for 80 bucks if I remember right. That solved most of the voltage issues.

<---running 1600 watts rms (in 4 ohm though) on stock alternator no big three upgrade and I've been fine for 3 years now . 1 ohm loads FTL lol.

I have had friends how have had issues with iraggi, ie sending money and getting nothing in return for months if ever. However, to be fair that was a few years ago.

yeah. Ia m going to be running in 1ohm with a D2 REXXX Subwooofer and a Sundown 1500D amp. So its roughly gonna be 1500-(2000 on perfect electrical) there for I need to make sure the big 3 are good. I am kinda ancy now because I think my voltmeter is shot on my amp. because it is showing higher volts and amps then normal the Autozone dude said. (I told him it could be my belt re-route from not using the compressor but not 100% sure)

that makes no sence sence the diameter of the pulleys are still the same.

yeah, I was thinking that too, but because I put on a skinnier belt as well. 4rib. ( I know I couldn't find a 6rib and the guy at Autozone was a mech and he said he did it plenty of times and it worked for him for months.(lol I have it like that for almost a year so far. (oppps)
