hey i need to know the answer to this cuz i really dont want to waste my money because of some stupid move i made. when you buy lowering springs can you still use the stock suspension thing thats on the inside? or do you have to go out and look for that?
you'll be just fine, right up to the point where that thing inside, strut/shock, blows because it isn't made for lowering/performance springs. Then you'll get to take it all apart again and hate yourself for not doing it the right way the 1st time...
You talking about struts? Depends on the drop really. If your going with a mild drop (1.5" or less), then the stock struts will be fine for a bit but they'll eventually blow out. If your going with a more aggressive drop (1.5" or more), then no you'll need to upgrade your struts.

Reason: missed a word in the sentence
i think this was a great question, many here probably wanted to know but didnt wanna get flamed.
you can lower your car with lowering springs but depending on the lowering height you have to match your struts accordingly.
for example: eibach pros are 1.7 front and 1.5 rear with these you can use kyb gr2's
for example: tein s techs are 2.2 front and 1.8 with these you should use tokico illumina or something that can withstand the aggressiveness of the s techs.

Next time
i got H&R sports on stock struts. 1.4" front drop, 1.3" rear drop. no probs so far, and its been over a year on a daily driver. just dont go more than 1.5"
Florida Gators: (10-0) | CSU (62-3) W | Troy (56-6) W | Tenn (23-13) W | Kentucky (41-7) W | LSU (13-3) W | Arkansas (23-20) W | Miss St (29-19) W | Georgia (41-17) W | Vandy (27-3) W | SC (24-14) W | FIU | FSU
do you even know how many miles are on your struts? unless your stock suspension is on the newer side they will definitely be short lived even with a moderate drop height. and you will require new struts eventually. and taking apart the suspension 2x is no fun.
