99 Maxima PreCat question

I have obx headers I'm going to end up putting on my car. The bank 1 and main cat are removed with the bank 2 precat still in. I was looking at those MINICAT bungs or whatever you can put on the sensor itself. Do they work has anyone had any experience with them?

if your 99 is Cali Spec (and it sounds like it is by your description) then you will need to fool the secondary O2s somehow. I've never heard of those MINICAT bungs, but I've heard that spark plug antifoulers work well.

one of the websites that apparently sells them. I'm waiting to see if anyone has any experience with them.

50 bucks each?

You would need two of them....and you'd need to figure out your bank 1 cat configuration (do the headers have the O2 holes already for bank 1?)

Those are basically antifoulers but more expensive

The headers have one hole in them already for the sensor. I gotta drill and weld a bung into the Ypipe for the second sensor. My bank 1 precat is removed. My bank 2 cat is still there.

Doesn't really help me, but okay.. bank 2 has two holes for two sensors already. Bank 1 just has the one hole. I gotta drill and weld one more bung. If anyone has any experience with the minicats or these antifoulers and if they actually work please let me know.

Bank 2 pre cat on a Cali spec is part of the manifold. If your putting headers on, you won't have any pre cats. You'll need 2 o2 simulators to keep the cel off.

What am I missing here? Pic of the headers might explain it...

^ This.

No pre-cats with headers. You will indeed need o2 sims, I only needed one when gutted the cats/ypipe but I'm sure headers will need two.

Fed spec's better for sure but I'll always feel the love for my Cali spec '99.
