intake hack

i was searching through the threads to see what i could do for cheap to my intake. The thing i like the best is taking the top of the airbox and flipping it over (making the filter on the top). I only saw one pic of this in the threads and was looking for mayb a few more pictures or some more people that have done this to give me their imput.

Im going mostly for sound here, and i kno i wouldnt be gaining any performance.

thanks

You could hack the airbox, or remove the lower entirely.

Or just get a cheap eBay intake.

while we're on this topic:
will a HTP billet MAF adapter with a 5" amisol filter give the 'roar' like an intake would?

if ur gona get an air intake get a CAI not short ram but my suggestion keep it stock. i get anoyed from the fking roaring my car makes after 2.5 k rpm its cool at first but then it makes me wana kill myself. so i had to spend 100 and get a stock intake back. and tehre is NO POWER GAIN, well at least anything noticible.

thats y i was thinking about just turning my stock intake upside down and removing everything before the airbox. I would clean up the engine compartment a little bit and that way if i get tired of it i can just put it back to how it was.

The amsoil filter will probley run you just as much money as a K&N filter.

My set up

TB-Coupling-(maf adapter)maf-cone.

Granted i deleted a couple of vac lines but IMO i think i like it more than just a regular short ram. And you can get a coupling and a cone anywhere for pretty cheap.

Yes it will.

I had that setup and sold it cause I got sick of the roar. It does roar though.

I went back to stock.

You can actually just take off you lower intake and and put some tape around the filter. It helps you get an idea of what it will sound like.

I did it and i went from 350 a tank to like just under 200.

probably one of the most costly mods but it makes the car fun again.

ok just do what i did when you look in the top air box there is a gold peice that is in it its bolted on so wat u gotta do is cut it off and then bolt it on the end of ur maf sensor then u can put a cone intake on the end of that and it will sound beastly or u could spend 30 bucks at pep boys murrays or autozone on an adaptor that will hook up to it instead and a cone air filter and it sounds sick
