How much am i worth?

My maxima is a 1999 SE limited with 67,000 mi on it. Its fully loaded and has evrey option included even perpherated seats and embrioded SE logo on the seats. Has a clean title. black leather....

But... The airbag light is blinking...I have papers for when i got it serviced and its that 99 side airbag issue thats so common. no CEL's.... Occasionally the car studders in drive while stopped because of a bad coil pack. Has a few small door dings and dents and some missing paint on the bumper. Have all other service records... Hood was replaced and so was the drivers side fender before i even purchased the car...the keen eye can see the bodywork but its all been done properly. Again small accident, clean title. Needs new tires....

And a old picture, but the car essentially looks the same...

I was thinking a fair selling price was 7k.....??? what do you guys think?

more like 5k with the little issues its got. depends on what you did if anything, and how it was driven. i see beat up tires and i think it was driven hard and fast. little stuff like that even with low miles i could go to a local dealer and get an o1 for 7k with low miles.

Its an auto

Hmm seems like you guys are feelin a lower price... I dont think id bother to fix the airbag problem. multiple moduldes have been replaced and it only fixed the problem for a few days.... i guess i could post @ 6990 which seems respectable. I guess either way ill get haggled down on the price with the airbags...the tires are easily fixable... Bird1411 you have a good point just keep it clean so it looks like a 8000$ car thats never been driven by a grandma to the grocery mart for 10 years and only got 67,000 mi ill clean the hell outa the engine bay or something haha. unfourtantly my car gets dirty fast since it frequents the country roads. Im going to buy a 95 dodge ram hopefully. They seem fairly reliable and seem to last.

Any other opinions greatly appriciated. I guess ill start by cleaning the hell out of it.

Your screen is correct!, dont adjust it haha. The picture was taken in late summer however, note the green trees with leaves . Unfourtantly my car has gotten a little dirtier since then! @ 6k might be possible. Oh man, im in deeper than i thought! I figured it was worth 7 or 8. But i bought it 2 years ago with new tires and all serviced for 7... so i guess its still fair. Man this keeps on getting more dissapointing!

Not sure what cars go for in South Denver but out here in Boston you would never get 7k for a 99 4th generation like yours.

Very nice car BTW....I'll say out here $5k

By using these services, it can be fairly accurately predicted what a car is worth in a certain area and what a car is actually selling for in that area.

http://www.autotrader.com/

http://www.nadaguides.com/

http://www.kbb.com/

... and BTW, if leather appointed, all 99.5 SE Ls have perforated and emblemed seats.

Sorry but "these services" aren't accuratly in predicted what a car is worth. They're used for predicting retail value in cause of loss. What one needs to find out is what the market value is for that type of car. What the dealer next door is selling his car for, What's the next craigslist, listing is listing his car for.

so i only use these services after i've totaled my car in order to ensure that the insurance company isn't trying to rip me off and/or they're used by insurance companies to determine how big a check to cut me?

last time i looked, banks used both NADA and KBB to determine loan value which in many instances dictates how much a buyer can afford and hence impacts selling and purchase price.

based on the OP's question the impression is given that the car will not be sold retail, the impression is given that he will be a private seller... dealer retail and private seller pricing are different.

Does carfax reflect the accident?

I hope you fix the studdering issue you described first. You'll get low balled big time if you don't.

The blinking airbag light is more than likely directly related to the accident, or it will definitely appear that way. Any one that doesn't know maximas like we do is going to be skeptical and upset when they see the light. Be prepared to let it go for $5,500 or less.....

change the tires and coil packs and get the airbag light fixed.
here in PA, you could get around 6400-6800 for it after you fix those issues.

well dealerships would sell it arnd 6k and u will get some kind of warranty along with it when u buy from them and most likely those light issues and minor things would be taken care of as well, but 7k is alot for the car in my honest opinion, how much would u pay if someone was selling that car to you?
in any case good luck and let us know wat are the results.

what does kbb.com say it's worth?

it should give you a good idea as anyone looking to buy the car will probably go on there and find out what it's really worth...least that's what i would do.

No carfax reads my car as accident free... the airbag light never kicked in untill a year after i purchased it. So i doubt its related to the accident, we have visited the dealership 2x about this issue spending over 600$ but the light came on two or three days later after both the modules were replaced. Its def a side airbag issue (110% sure and the dealer verified this). Once someone else with shorter legs drove my car the light and moved my seats it went off for a day and then continued repeating. Ive tried the doorjam trick, d/c and reconnected the yellow harnesses and connectors under the seats and tried moving the seats. Still no luck. So from what i remember replacing the airbag is the only other option.... None of the airbags in my car have been deployed either.

KBB lists:

Excellent
$6,725

Good
$6,250

Fair
$5,675

I bought my 99 SE-L Auto back in 2004 it had 90k miles on it, totally factory nothing done to it for about $5,000, no damage to the body, flawless interior, new tires, new 17 inch rims, though - no leather, no Bose, no heated seats, no sunroof, no nothing but the SE floormats and side badges......seems odd for it being an SE and it doesn't have $4it.
You wanna trade your Max for a Dodge? Aren't we supposed to move forward and not backwards in the sense of having a good car? IMO........
