Does anyone's clock turn bright when your dash light dimmer is turned up all the way? My radio gets brighter, my climate controller gets brighter, but the clock stays dim.

Whazupwidat? or are they all like that?

Clip the red wire going to the clock. That will make it bright all the time.

I was looking at that earlier, but what's a blue tracer? What's it look like?

I just turn the dimmer switch all the way up but not click it into place. that way everything matches really nicely.

Look for the red wire with a blue thin line on it that goes length wise.

Same, having my clock and or my climate control that bright at night would bug me. Sometimes I only run at like 50 percent brightness on everything at night.

That is interesting though how the climate goes full brightness when you click it but not the clock.

It's very weird I don't understand why Nissan did that.

I think I read somewhere that the clock dims when the dash lights are on to conserve electricity or something, which I guess makes it easier on our POS alternators. Don't know that it would make much difference though..

I don't remember if the stock Bose HU has a clock on it. It hasn't worked in so long.

I wouldn't know. I had a Panasonic HU when I bought my car and then upgraded to a Kenwood HU.

The stock Bose headunit doesn't (otherwise they probably wouldnt've put a clock on the dash) but other Bose units do. I've got a Z33 6-disc in my car and it's got the clock since there isn't a standalone clock in those cars (IIRC). And the orange backlighting matches my CEL, heh.

FOCUS peeps

Ok, I don't want it bright all the time. Does anyone have the clock dim with the rest of the dash lights?? That's what I'm after

BTW, I have the bose HU -- no clock there...
