Alternator removal breaking my balls! Help!

I'm replacing the alternator on my 97 max. I don't know how to remove the square nut flange! Is it a left handed screw? Regardless, it seems like the alternator itself gets in the way if you try to unscrew it. The remanufactured alternator I bought doesn't even have the mount for it, but I can't even take the old one off. I've looked at the stick on alternator removal but it didn't help me much, I might've missed something.

When i do alti's i pull the a/c compressor out of the way. That way you have access to the 2 bolts for the alternator. The compressor has 4 12mm bolts iirc and then swings out the way. Once its moved its a piece of cake.

remove a/c and leave hanging or you will have a nice time trying to get that alternator out.

i removed the four bolts on compressor mounts, but it doesn't seem to want to budge. Is it supposed to slide out the front of the car, or towards you if you are facing the bolt mounts.
