CRC MAF cleaner, CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. Couldn't find the MAF cleaner so I got the electronic cleaner instead. Worked fine, dries almost instantly, leaves no residue. $5

My auto 97 maxima with 160k miles on has had two issues with revs/stalling in the last six months. Both easy fixes thus far.
First problem: Car would lose revs when accelerating. If I released the gas then accelerated gently no problem but if I hammered the gas the revs would go up then drop, up then drop resulting in really jerky acceleration. Opened up the hood and found that the air filter was not seated properly. Reseated the air filter and problem went away.

Second problem: Car starts up no problem, idles around 1k then when I shift into drive it stalls. In addition, when in idle or park if I gas it hard, up to 3 or 4 k rpm, it loses revs rapidly, shudders, and occaisionally stalls. Checked all the hoses running from air filter to engine and dry rot had degraded a lot of the connections allowing extra air in/breaking the vacuum. Cleaned up the connections with some electrical tape and problem has disappeared.

forgive my lack of technical lingo this is the first car ive diy'ed repairs for and still learning my way around.
