the IAT is useless so forget about it being even remotely related to the problem your having. My bet is the MAF, they are fragile, mine gave out once too for no reason.
There is a reason the Valve Cover is connected to the intake. Read in the FSM about it.

Glad to see you capped off the nipple none the less.

An open air leak anywhere between the maf and the throttle body could cause problems.

haynes the fsm is what the dealership techs go by, not haynes or chilton.

the FSM has more specific information than you could ever hope for in chiltons or haynes. This is what the dealership idiots use when they are sticking wrenches in your engine bay...it's dumbed down good enough to be used by noobs usually.

^^ Why not edit the post you started with originally instead of posting twice?

codes don't necessarily trigger a cel and sometimes the bulb might just be burnt out. put in the new maf and let know if it helped.

update:

put on the new MAF and put it back to stock. It worked. So, i might just try to replace the airbox with the filter and see if it works, and go piece by piece. Those damn MAFS are so Fragile...by the way, I have one for sale that cost me $90 by the time it got to my door if anyone needs one,
it's an extra and it does work
