I must admit that it looks pretty shoemaker. I would have suggested that you look into an appropriate paint for the application, something like vinyl paint......
Maybe you didnt remove all the years of armorall before you attempted this the first time. My suggestion to you is start sourcing out a new dash.
Take your time and appreciate that good results take time.
Good luck at the Pimp My Ride auto show, and on the second attempt.

LOL... I remember being like you... trying to make the cheapest mods ever... lol you could do a good job using cheap tools... but do research before... and practice on a similar material before you actually paint something that important...

Now you have to get a new dash....

But im not tryin to be mean or anything... its just part of growing up...we all been there.

So let me get this straight. Was the existing dash black to begin with? It appears so based on the overspray I see. If so, then the existing black dash wasn't black enough for you, so you painted it to be pitch black? I thought you were painting a tan interior black the whole time. Aren't the center AC vents going to be stuck now? How did you paint near the windshield??

Pitch black isn't exactly show car worthy. What blackonblack98 did would be IMO.

i never had a black interior... and as far as the windshield nothing goo gone, gasoline, and glass cleaner won't fix.. which i gotten paint on the windshield before... like i said.. my car aint going to big car shows.. just local ones here.

i still think you should buy a new dash, fun's fun but no one's car looks like that on teh inside. i almost bought a 69 firebird a few years back until i saw the dash was painted, and the tranny was shot and i guess he thought id be ok with that.

I give you mad props, because when I heard "painting dash" and "cheapest Walmart spray paint available" I really was shocked by the pics, I was expecting it to be A LOT worse.

thanks for the input man... it actually does fine out in the sun. windows up and full heat... the dash isn't really all that hot to the touch. o_O which is weird... but i still have to get it a final matte finish.. but until then.. my friend is actually trying to figure out whether he is gonna just overlay the dash with a thin layer of fiberglass and paint it... or just make me another custom one.. iono.. i'll keep you guys posted.

just remember this... ima do this now and show off my cheapiness... but sooner or later at the end... ima come out big.. one day.

That one day will come when you buy a new dash and toss it in!

Theres a right way to paint your dash, and theres a wrong way. That way was the wrong way, and the fact that you would even be seen in public with that, let alone put it in a car show, is....interesting to say the least.

yeah.. i dunno even know how i got third place in the show.. because the judge chick was looking at my car and an acura integra.. she overlooked them 3 times.. then slowly and unsurely headed to my car and got me third place...

iono how but yeah... and if you guys didn't notice. .the inside of my engine compartment was painted with the same product...

thus look for my thread, my intake question.

go ahead and ask me what cheap mods i have done.. i will be more glad to tell you guys.. xD.

that also includes the self made carpet on the underside of the trunk lid... and the re-carpeted back dash..
