Well, it looks and feels like it might be time to start thinking about getting a few winter tools for the max and was curious to know what you guys use. I've been living in Atlanta for the past 12 years and didn't need them but I'm back home in Vermont now and it's starting to feel like winter is just around the corner.
They look like they might do the trick nicely (especially the broom as I'm looking for something that won't scratch my paint) but was wondering if there is anything better out there that you guys have used.
oh and if you say that you live in a warm climate and don't need them I will kill you.
I lived at Snowshoe WV for 18 years. Nothing is worse than a $2.50 ice scrapper. You cant skimp out on ice tool like those in VT. I might pick them up even now that i live in VA.

I know it. That's why I'm looking for the best possible, regardless of price. I've used those cheap arse scrapers too and they do suck major balls. Any recommendations on some good uns?
But my car will be sitting outside this winter in my school's parking lot...I plan on having a shovel and ice scraper with me. I usually use my hands to get the snow off the car, thus not risking scratching the paint and I'll plan to turn the car on and blast the heat and both defrosters while I dig out my car. By the time that is finished, most of the ice should scrape rather easily off the windows. Just give yourself time to warm up the car and it wont be too bad

Ah, a garage would be jackpot money but alas we don't have one. We're old school country up here. I also hear ya on the car warming but sometimes you get stuck behind schedule and find yourself peering out a 3 inch hole in your windshield shivering like a bastard. Clearing a car off with my hands isn't an exciting prospect either. It can still scratch the car and your mits and wrists could end up getting cold, wet and clammy. I'm all set with that.

I hear ya buddy. Not a boarder here but skate, ski (down and cross) sled and snow shoe so I'm actually looking forward to Winter having been gone from it for so long. Could be whistling a different tune come March or April when the shyt's still around but yeah I can dig it.

Yeah, a remote starter would be nice but I don't think it'll happen. It'd be gravy if I could just to point out the window and fire that fukker up but winter came upon me pretty quick and it didn't make the budget. Plus I'd have to have an extra key made. $130 clams right there.
Unfortunately, I'll have to shovel, brush and scrape my way through this go round and need some good and safe tools for the season.

Yeah, Florida can kiss my grits too. Not a fan either. But yeah, if I were ever to move south again, It'd probably be to North or South Carolina but it probably wouldn't be till I'm an old codger or something. Even then, probably not since I'm digging it too much up here.
i have one but i live in florida so i found better uses for it. like holding up my hood. LOL
OH and no salt rust FTMFW!!! HA LOL
Lawlz: I use vice grips
But yeah man, my rig ain't looking forward to the salt that's for sure. Cars been in GA for it's entire life so it's seen neither hide nor hair of it before. Unfortunately the onslaught is about to begin so In the next few weeks I'm gonna do a full winter detail to hopefully curb the rust invasion.
