i got this idea because thats what my car now does. i was confused myself, but it did change

well then your tachometer is reading wrong... cuz 3000rpm through a .750 (or whatever your 5th is) gear through a 3.50 (or whatever yours is) final drive on 25.5" (again...) tires will ALWAYS be the same speed whether your flywheel is lead or aluminum.

LOL this thread is ridiculous. The ONLY thing that can change your indicated speed vs RPM ratio is a change in gear ratio or final drive - or a speedometer or tachometer being messed up and giving you false indications. It is physically impossible to change the ratio between indicated speed and RPM in any other fashion. Physically impossible. Flywheels can't do it. IACVs can't do it. Fairy Godmothers can't do it.

5th gear in the 4th gen at redline is 163mph indicated. Again - there is no discussion to be had. It's simple mathematics. If you're using stock tire size, your tachometer is accurate (meaning you're turning 6550rpm when your tach says you're turning 6550rpm) that is how fast you'll be going at redline in 5th gear in a 4th gen which has the stock .795 5th gear ratio and 3.82 final drive ratio. It's math guys. It can't be argued with. It can't be reasoned with. It can't be changed. It's like the Terminator. That's it.
